Nagivation Question
Hi All -
I tried searching for an answer but wasn't sure what to search under....
When I am following the directions via NAV....As the NAV tells me a turn is coming up, the screen spilts. The left side is a close up of the map and the right side is the actual turn in so many feet and direction. Well, the the left side of the screen is no longer a close up of the map but a bird's eye view of the US map. Is there a setting that I need to adjust to get the close up map back?
Thanks in advance...

I have an '07. The NAV dvd was replaced with an '09 by dealership because my '07 disc wasn't reading. Otherwise, I would of looked in the manual frist before posting.
Any help is welcomed...

Well....it was different. The bird's eye view on the '07 disc was a close up of the rooute being taken. With the '09 disc, the map zooms out and shows the US and Canada with a star/flag denoting my location in TX. Obviously, a zoom out view of the US map does me no good as I'm following the driections of the NAV system.
Any suggestions?

Birds eye view refers to a view similar to flying like a bird with closer objects on the map larger than farther away objects, with the perspective in the distance converging towards the center. (Artists call it the Vanishing point) There would also be sort of a view of the sky far away, above the horizon liine. Some birds eye views also show the curve of the earth's surface where the sky meets the ground.

What you're describing is NOT birds eye view, it's just zoom. Barry's answer is correct.

I now have an 09 disk in an 07... Works like it always did. However in one of the soft keys there are split screen settings you can make.

Barry was just describing what bird's eye view is because the op mis used the term. (he meant "zoom out")
Hard drive based nav in '09 was the first w211 w/the capability.
