COMAND Screen: No Nav Disk Insert CD (in Trunk)
All of a sudden after reentering my parked car...COMAND Screen Displays: No Nav Disk Insert CD (in Trunk).
I've cleaned the CD and removed and reinserted it several times. Any suggestions?

I used to get that message a lot while driving because I have crates in the trunk that always bang the left side near the nav box. Reinserting disk or restarting car usually doesn't solve it for me and I just wait it out till the next time I drive and it's fine. Now I have a rail in my trunk dividing the front and back half so my crates don't slide and bang anymore. Hopefully that might have been your problem and it isn't any more serious than it looks.

Out Of Control!!
I have had intermittent failures during very long drives especially in hot weather.
Maybe heat is an issue. On mine burning a new disk seemed to fix it.

I burned a brand new disc but continue to have the problem. before I keep *****ing, let me remove everything from my trunk and see if it persists.

I have the same issue once in a while and my truck is always empty. I 1st thought it was a temp issue, extreme hot or cold but it doesn't seem to be related to that. Maybe just an old age issue.

Yup, looks like my command drive is shot. very lightly used rear window switch also **** the bed this evening during a rainstorm. Car is approaching 90K miles and 7 years old, I wonder if this means it's about to completely fall apart. Add it to the list: keyless go door handles on both front doors doesn't work, The trunk closing mechanism works great but the sensor is shot. I've steadily had to add more weights to my trunk to get it from not reopening itself after being 90% closed.
Oh yea, replaced valve body and engine wiring harness, along with the duct work that feeds air from the turbo.
Why am I only considering a W212 at this point when this has clearly been a dud of a car, no matter how much I tend to like it (sometimes).

I had the exact problem. I was ready to buy another drive when I decided to get a can of spray air and spray it into the slot of the nav drive. its been working ok ever since.
im guessing the laser was full of dust and the air was just what was needed.

Nav for 2009 E-350
Thai is my first post so I hope to spend a lot of time on her and see all of the great ideas. The person who originally purchased my car got pretty much every option except NAV. I have the new MB head unit with the 6 cd changer in dash and some one mentioned that if I can get a NAV disc it would work, any truth to this and if so any leads on where I could pick up a NAV disc and what that might cost me?
Thanks in advance for any replies. Once I figure out how to upload pics I will certainly upload a few pics of the car.

I have found water leaking into my trunk. Location of the leak is above the rear SAMs, nav unit, and kg module. My nav is still working but my kg module have shorted out due to water. So, if your kg is not working then probability of your module being shot is high. I suggest you remove the trunk left compartment cover and see if you have water entering from the rubber seals. Good luck!

I ordered Maxell CD-340 cd/dvd lens cleaner. Loaded it in and re-inserted twice. Brushes on disc came out BLACK. Put in the NAV DVD and voila, instantly worked.
So went from dealer saying bad DVD drive ($2,200) to a disc cleaner from Walmart for $5.45. Hope this helps others!
