What does the CD Slot in my boot do???
Hey guys,
I have a 2008 Mercedes Benz E280 CDI Avantgarde
I'm already aware of the cd changer on the dash where you pless the silver button and the james bond cd changer comes out. My question is though, what does the cd slot in my boot do? It just has an eject buttone and its ont the left side of the boot under a cover. Whats the point of it?

Free? No. I purchased a used OEM map disc for my car off Ebay. I have the older CD based system so it's not current at all, but my GPS time and such wouldn't work without a nav disc.
The maker of the system usually has current map updates on their site, I think Naviteq did a lot of them in this era, you would have to research it. I'm sure you could find a download of a file to burn to a dvd, but the quality has to be great or you get issues. A late model OEM disc is probably much simpler.
