Went to the dealership yesterday...
So, I am experiencing the jerking motion during low speeds on my '03 E320, and with the help from the members of this forum I went armed with the TSB's. Well, my car was sold as a CPO in '07 (to another owner)from this same dealership and according to their records the car hasn't been to them since 2011. I then bring up the TSB's and get shot down, rep said all that work was already done before it was sold. Ok, I really wasn't expecting it to happen but worth a shot right. I agree to the $218 Diagnostic fee and while I'm waiting for the loaner car, the rep comes and gets me and tells me he has to show me something. Well, when the valet went to move my vehicle they ended up scraping a concrete pole from the front passenger side of the bumper all the way down the front wheel well. Not really the type of service I was expecting at a MB dealership but I get told they will do everything they can to correct that issue even if it involves repainting it. So anyways, back to the transmission. I dropped my car off at 7 am on a Monday, I finally get a call from the rep at 5 pm that day stating they couldn't find any codes as to why the car is doing what it is. I then ask what the next steps is, rep states a transmission flush but if they find metal shavings then it would mean a new transmission. I then ask for a quote on how much all that would cost and the rep says he will call me tomorrow (tuesday-today) with the quote. Well no call today but I did get an email and wow...that's all I can really say. Wow, $218 Diagnostic Fee, $521.49 Trans Pan Inspection, and an amazing $6,172.26 for a new transmission . All of this from a guesstimation since there wasn't any fault codes. I haven't agreed to anything yet.
Is this a normal price for this stuff? Thinking of doing the transmission flush myself...

Out Of Control!!
I bet nothing is normal in Hawaii-----in any event, if it were me I would get a second opinion from a transmission shop famulier with MB's!
PS: Yea I just can see you trying to change the transmission fluid/filter your self!!

I'd spend the $ on a a transmission flush to see if it improves or if there is metal in there.
I'd also get 2 independent estimates on the body damage they did before they try to fix it, and I'd let them know I was reserving the right to have them pay for the damage they are liable for. You may want to call your insurance agent. Rather than fix a $6k transmission I'd sell the car with the damage and pocket the money from the damage (likely several thousand).

There is nothing "World Class" about this dealership. What a shame! You may wanna establish a relationship with an independent shop and it should cost you a lot less than this world class stealer!
