04 E320 ESP light on, car surging

New to this forum. I was driving my E320 this morning, took a curve, a little sharp, ESP pops on, says malfunction, then the transmission kicks itself into neutral, car still running but as I give it gas, no response to the rpm's. I had to manually shift into neutral, kill it, waited a minute then recranked it. It cranked on no problem, but then started hesitating. When i stopped at a stop sign, big truck in front of me, my car decided it wanted to be a di*k and surge, almost putting me under the truck! Not sure whats going on with her. May not have anything to do with it but last night an opossum decided it wanted to run into the side of my car. Needless to say, it slammed up under my car pretty hard under the driver front. Any help or advice would be awesome!

Read the codes. Those cars have huge computer memory and remember last time you farted.
Sound to me like you might have several issues going at the same time. How old is brake fluid?

Not sure about brake fluid, have only had the car a few months. I haven't changed it. Already dumped way too much money into it. I think there is something going on with my transmission. I spent about 5 hours last night replacing the motor mounts and trans mount. Vibration gone. Everytime i fix one thing, something else goes wrong. Smh

When you buy car for 10-15% of its original price, you have to calculate that few things wear out on it.
But 320/5sp is combo that has several records of reaching 400,000 miles without major repair, so it is a good base.
Did you pull the transmission plug and check for leaks on pilot bushing?

Get a can of MAF or other cleaner and give the plug/socket good bath regardless.
Any sign of ATF will call for pilot bushing replacement.
