For charging I bought a 12V + dual USB socket for $8 at Walmart. The USB ports charge at 2.1A each or 3A total and it is the only charger that will charge my phone at a decent rate while running Waze with the screen on. I hard wired the new socket to the cigarette lighter wiring and mounted the socket under the glove compartment. It works like a charm, universal and I can charge two phones and have a spare socket for whatever else I might need without having to keep my center console open.

I bought it last night.

Reasons,
- missing screws
- installation method - don't want to see gap under screen
- the way they glue the "mount" - piece by piece
I had proclip on my previous BMW E60 530I for more than 5 years, liked it so much; strong enough to hold Ipad first generation.
After I switched to W212, proclip was first place I searched for mounting bracket; however, the design for w212 center mount, not fitted my expecting. Anyhow, it is my personal experience, you may like proclip center mount.

to hold the phone, I use Proclip for my Samsung Note 3 Holder with Tilt Swivel; http://www.proclipusa.com/phone-hold..._leftorright=0; make sure you have the right selection for "with or without" cover/case.

I like big phones and I currently have an xperia T2 Ultra which is a six inch phone. Can't find a lot of car phone holders that can fit this phone.
Finally, I found one that works great for me. It's called the imagnet... not sure if you guys heard of it but anyway, here's their link.

Have to agree. I have the console side mount from Proclip in the SLK.
You have to be very specific on the holder for your phone and type of case.
The only issue I had with it was the hook that goes behind the trim was not so good and easily could be knocked off.
A strategically placed black broad head self tapper fixed it.
I don't use one in the W212. I find the BT works good for most thing so it sits under the screen on the IP. If I want more access to the music on my iPhone I plug it in to the connector in the glove box

IMO, smartphones are an incredible distraction and shouldn't be near the driver. I plug mine into the media interface when I get in so it can charge, and I can start 'My Top Rated' playlist running, and pretend it's not there until I get out again.

You can leave it in your pocket, sound off and do the same thing.
In my SLK I have to stop and program the destination because Siri sucks but it is my nav system in that 14 yr old car. The irony is that Google Maps and Directions are easier to set up and with the voice directions playing through the HK system it is better in many respects than the MB Nav.
In addition, the maps on Google Maps are far more up to date.
Those of us who have to do map updates using the disc always will have maps at least 2 yr out of date and that comes from the supplier to MB.
