Bird inflicted seal damage - trunk seal E250
Can anyone help, I have had the rubber seal (the one glued to rear window, not the full boot seal) that seals against the trunk lid damaged by bird attack. Local dealer says its integral to the window (its not, it is clearly adhered with double sided tape) and requires full window replacement. Can anyone advise where I might find a replacement seal or suitable sponge rubber profile to replace.
Thanks very much

Thanks konigstiger and pamiboy for replies. konigster accepted that the seal is shown just frustrating that solution to $15 seal is $2500 window. I have attached image that shows profile of seal, it is roughly 10mm wide and the same high, any suggestions on suitable replacement appreciated. Thanks again Darryl

Strange that the seal is not a separate part number. I just went and looked at mine and it looks like any typical rubber seal glued to the window. It looks like you are only missing a few inches of it so there is no need to be in a rush. Do you have the missing piece or did the birds fly off with a trophy?
By the way, did the birds scratch the trunk lid while they were pecking at your car?

Simple sticky back compression window/door seal easily found in any hardware store. Lay it on the window with the contact paper still on and draw a line with a grease pen for the contour.
