I have 2011 E300 sport package. A year ago I bought a Taiwan grill from ebay with a big star in it. Now, I want to replace that star with an aftermarket chineese illuminated star. Something like this:

But I dont know what star I should be looking for. Does it have to be the size of facelifted E or a size of W204? Will it fit? I am attaching photos of my star. Has anyone done it? Please share your expreince.

P.S. some people hate illuminated star, some love, so let's not discuss that in here.

I am sure it will work, you can search videos on youtube there is a 2009 C class that they install the star on. Also that ebay listing should have a compatibility chart, if not, message the seller and he will let you know if it will work.

The c class might have different size of the star. And the aftermarker grill might now fit a star that was supposed to be in restyles 212. That is the exact reason I am asking questions here. What if aftermarket grill need a star from a w204 c class.

Go to ebay put in Illuminated star for Mercedes benz 2011 E300. It should come up with what you want. I have found that even if it says not compatable with your car you need to contact seller and ask them. Sometimes they just use a generic listing but it will really fit your car also.

That's what I did, and all of the sellers were saying that it is incompatible with my car. And that's because my grill is aftermarket grill and they dont know wether that aftermarket part uses and 2014 E class or w204 C class star. So, I have measured my star, and it is more like the 2014 E class star sizewise, but I have a doubt about the connector types used in OEM vs aftermarket grill and that the star wont sit in its place until I glue it or something. Anyways, I have placed the order, and will be getting it within a month. Will see what it turns out.

The connection should be the same for oem and aftermarket. I actually have a white lite star and a blue lite star that I can switch to one is aftermarket the other is oem. they have same connections. Let me know how it works out. Good luck

That's true for you because your grill is OEM since you have 2014 E. And my grill is aftermarket one, that is why mine might have different connection.

You could go over to a dealer and ask to see if the oem star fits. Tell them you are looking for a replacement and if it fits tell them you will buy it once you save up enough money.
