2017 European Delivery
Hello. I'm planning to go to Germany this summer to pick up a new 2017 E 400 wagon by European delivery. Can anyone who has done this recently give me any advice on what you wish you had known before you did it? I'd be very grateful for your suggestions.

Did you try the European delivery sub forum? There's one guy that gets a lot of mention there.

Thank you for this suggestion. I have indeed been very happy to be dealing with Herbert Haemmer, who has been unfailingly helpful. I would welcome any suggestions from MB World members who have been to Sindelfingen to pick up a car using European delivery about what they would recommend doing before and during the trip to Germany.

I have ordered a week ago from Germany, estimated delivery is end of May. They said that it depends on options. My car has almost every option on the list, and matte color. They also said that there is a delay if you order with "widescreen cockpit screen" because they currently don't have that part in factory. Sorry for my "inglisch".

European Delivery
All, I see Herbert Haemmer mentioned a lot in posts about European Delivery. Are some of you suggesting contacting him in lieu of going through a local dealer?

Hello. You should certainly get in touch with Herbert Haemmer. I've been talking to him since 2015 about buying a Mercedes and am now awaiting a summer trip to pick up an E400 wagon in Sindelfingen. Not only is he the expert on European delivery, having done more of them than anyone else in the country, but also he is fair, reliable, patient, and detail-oriented, sparing you pitfalls, saving you trouble, and offering excellent advice on every part of the process. He has made it easy for me to purchase a car through his dealership although I live out of state, much further up the west coast than you do. He also has an old-fashioned gentlemanly character--in other words, he is a very decent man--which makes dealing with him a real pleasure, and stands in stark contrast to the slick sharks in auto sales. Let me know if you have any particular questions or concerns.

Forty9 - Thanks. I guess you are further up the West Coast. We have dealt with MB dealer in Portland (Wilsonville) but will certainly contact Herbert.
