Start the Gwagen, press the brake pedal down, place it in neutral, apply foot to brake pedal and hold there, hold down "Low" (bottom of Switch) side of Low / High Transfer case button.. for 15 - 20 seconds.. Transfer case will shift into Low range.. You will feel a Clunk below your feet.. release the button.. press the high side of the Button ( High Range ) and you are done.. vehicle is in high range and the transfer case module is reset! the beeping when you exit the truck, and the message " Transfer Case in Neutral " will be gone!

I followed the instructions and it worked and beeping stopped so I proceeded to turn it off and it went back to lower with the H disappearing. I repeated the steps again and it stopped but I didnt proceed to take a brief mile up the road. Overall what you wrote does work. I dont see any comments from women on here about their G-Wagon (just a observation).

It appeared my Battery was the cause of the problem. Once I change my battery everything appeared normal. So there was no issue with transfer case giong in to L or H.

Hey there, I am having same problem. It will shift to High or Low after a few attempts... but the light on the dashboard is just staying blank. It isn't showing a H or L like normal.
I thought that maybe the motor was the issue, i replaced that and nothing changed.

Any other insight?
