Tuning 280se

I have a 72 280se 4.5 and the car is idling relatively rough. I have read that there is a way of adjusting the idle air/fuel mixture on the ECU, but I haven't been able to locate whatever is used to adjust this. Anybody have any information on what to look for or Pictures?

I no longer have mine, but I was considering buying a replacement ECU for a problem I had. I remembered this adjustment as well, but also don't remember reading on another forum that it was very distinguishable once you see and know what it is. I suggest taking it out from where it sits and looking for it. If I Remember right, a phillips or flathead screwdriver is all it took, with very little turning (as usual with a/f knobs).

The "screw" is a pretty big plastic *** sticking out of the ECU. It is located on the long side of the ECU with cooling fins on it. I will say that adjusting the mixture screw is RARELY the way to fix idle issues with these cars.

I don't mean to assume you have not, just want to suggest looking into the points. I solved all of my ignition related annoyances (including rough idle) by going to the Pertronix ignition that replaces the points.
