Adblu DIY with Mercedes 0.5gal bottle and Walmart adblu
I bought the 0.5gal feeding bottle from the parts department at the local dealer for $9.xx and the 2.5Gal from Walmart for $11.xx.

I filled the adblue tank first with the small 0.5gal bottle and then looked at the cap. There is a locking ring on the cap where it would only screw on and not let you unscrew it for refilling. I didn't want to cut the bottom of the bottle and use it like a funnel because the bottle would get dirty and risk contaminating the car's adblue tank.
I decided to take a serrated knife and cut the locking ring part of the cap off. It is important to hold the knife steady and just roll the bottle continuously. You don't want to cut into the bottle neck by mistake and have to buy another 0.5 gal bottle from the dealer. After cutting the locking ring apart from the cap, it unscrews easily and you can start refilling the bottle and feed the adblue tank 0.5 gallons at a time. Best part about it is that you can keep the unused adblue fluid in the bottle after the tank is full for future use instead of having to dump it back into the 2.5 gal tank.

That's a good idea. When I saw the MB service department using the .5 gal bottle with the bottom cut off, it had crystals all over it from dried Adblue. They had been using the same bottle as a funnel to fill all of the adblue tanks on the Sprinter vans, MLs, and GLs in their service bays. I thought they could at least wash the bottle off and let it dry.
