GL 450 Service F

My '09 Gl is telling me that Service F is due in 1100 miles. I cannot find anything that tells me what this service entails. I've owned other MB's and am familiar with service A and B, but what the heck is F?
Thanks.

It's all in your owners service manual. Don't look for service F. Just locate the services required for your mileage and interval since last service. For example, services are to be done every two years like brake fluid replacement. All the letter F shows you is that your service will take approximately 6 hours as in F being the sixth letter.

sorry, should have mentioned, this is a cpo and I did not get a service manual. So, what should I expect to pay for this type of service and what does "all fluids" mean, as I stated above?

If you go to MBUSA.com and register your vehicle you will be able to download an electronic copy of the manual. It is hard to know what services you will need because I don't know your mileage and when last service was done. Service F is the same as B with added items. If you are at 39K then you also need tranny fluid replacement at about $400 additional to oil change. If you need brake fluid change which you probably do then it is another $100 or so. If you have higher mileage you probably are due for spark plugs at about $300 plus labor in addition.

Best thing to do is to take it in. Ask them for a quote prior to starting any work, and have them do all required services. Don't worry. You spent $75K for a car that requires $1000 maintenance so you should have expected it. Whatever you do, dont skimp on maintenance or you will pay more later. That's my two cents.

Thanks

Thanks for the additional info. Mine is an '09 and currently has 40k on the odometer. As to paying for service, this is my fourth MB ('97 C, '02 C, '03 S), so I know all about the cost. Doesn't bother me, just wanted to know what F entailed.

Since you have 40 K on the odometer you will need Service B I believe, and transmission fluid replacement. These two alone should run about $750. Anything else needed like brake fluid replacement will be additional.
