DIYer's removing front bumper cover
Okay, I have removed a C32, E55, and an S600 front bumper cover with little effort to install a bigger HE, today I tried to get the wifes 09 GL450 cover off to replace a sensor for parktronic to no evail. How in the heck do you get the bumper to fender torx bolt out?
1. Do the headlight assemlies need to be removed?
2. You certainly can not get from the fender as the bolt is inverted, aka from the top.
3. Or am I just Polish and didn't go far enough
Bottom line, anyone here ever done it?
Thanks in advance

I just removed the bumper over the weekend to install the skid plate. It wasnt so much of removing the torx screw that is a problem.. It took a long time to reinstall that screw.
I used a T25 torx bit. with a Ridgid Impact driver. I had a 6 inch bit extension to get to the screw.
Reinstalling the clip takes a little time. You have to hook the clip to the slot near the front of the bumper/fender. then line up all the holes for the torx screw and fast clip..
1. you do not need to remove the light. just the 2 screw need the 10mm bolt/screw near the grill.
2. you have to lie on the ground and point the torx driver straight up and loosen the screw..
3. The screw is there.. use a flash light. you will see it.

My problem is that the torx screw closest to the rad support in the inner fender is upside down. Meaning you can NOT come from the ground, you must go over head? DId someone screw me at the factory
THANKS!!!

are we talking about the same screw?
Here is what I did to get off the bumper.
top - 2 snap pin in the middle. 2 black 10mm bolt screw near the light.
fender well each side - 3 snap pin to get to the 1 t25 torx screw.
- there is a 10mm bolt that tie down a cylinder for the bumper to slide in. Sometimes loosening that helps.
bottom - about 6 10mm bolt screw.
pull the bumper horizontally most of the bumper cover will detach. then pull up slightly to unhook the bumper to the light assemblies.
you have to unplug the fog light harness to totally remove the bumper.
