The sickest feeling in the world is to see the Check Engine light come on! My 2011 GL550 starting this very distinct shuddering/shaking on the highway this morning - and while the RPM's went up - would not respond to accelerator.... Then the Check Engine light came on.... FORTUNATELY - I was one exit from the dealer and limped it in. I made sure to keep it running so S/A could see light and feel the vibration!

I'm nearly sick over this! Bought this GL on March 1 and have only had chance to drive it for a few days. Been in detail shop and MB for service the other 11 days....

PLEASE someone tell me this isn't anything major?????

**UPDATE**

MB S/A called tonight to say it was a minor hiccup and that the #8 Cylinder coil pack was bad....parts will be overnighted.... I SHOULD be back up and running by tomorrow night.

Two certainties in life....#1 - God made mechanically skilled people. #2 - I'm not one of those listed in #1. From what I've found from internet - I deduce this isn't a major issue.

Can sleep a bit easier tonight knowing this too shall pass.
