Winter Tires/wheel offset Questions on 2015 GL550?
Greetings All...
We have a 2010 GL (Wifes). Recent spinal fusion surgery temporarily ended my relationship with my new S63. I have traded for a Nov 2 build for a loaded 2015 GL550 for me.
1. We went with a smaller diameter wheel/tires size for Blizzak's on our current GL. I live on top of a ridge with a steep 1/4 Mile road that get little sun in winter. Has anyone used the factory 295/40R21 size for winter tires (I am looking at Pirelli Winter Carving) with success instead of a different wheel/tire set? (I think I would be happy to mount the winter tires on the current wheels, and then look for a nice set of HRE's or such for SUMMER!)
2. What is the correct offset spec. for the wheels if I elect to purchase a second set (Is 46mm the correct value for 2015). I talked with Tirerack today and they said they did not have wheel specs for the 2015 model and could not make any recommendations and to check back (First time that ever happened)..
I'd like to hear what is working for other owners...
