2007 GL450 no start when warm
I just bought a 2007 GL450 that won't restart when warm. I have already replaced the crank position sensor, and the problem remains. When it is cold, it starts and runs great. Interestingly, when the car is warm and not starting, if I disconnect the ECM and then reconnect it the car will start fine and run fine. It is quite a hassle to have to get under the hood and take everything loose to get to the ECM to disconnect and reconnect it every time in a parking lot. Anyone have any ideas on this one? I'm thinking the ECM may have a problem, but I don't want to spend money having it repaired until I know for sure.

My issue was similar on the 2008 diesel version: intermittently unable to restart the car after driving, even died while going on a highway once.
Here is what the tech wrote:
"Replaced RELAY 002-542-26-19 $41.25.
71467 The car would start when hot after heat soak for 30 seconds. SDS TEST. No comm with CDI control module during no start. Found 87 Circuit relay F58kd not powering up CDI when hot."
The tech opened the relay and showed me that one of the internal contacts seemed burnt with no sign of being soldered.

I am having the same issue, did you ever find out what was the problem?
Can someone tell me where is the crank position sensor located on 2008 GL450?
quick scan at autozone tells me it is crank position sensor.
