Continental DWS 06 all season
Replaced the factory contisport contact5 summer tires on my GL63.
Handling isn't as good as all summer tire but the tire has 50k tread warranty and ride smoother and quieter.
I only hear my engine going 65+. Contisport was extremely noisy.

I run these tires as well and love them for quiet, smoothness, all-weather capability and balance. Great all-season tire.

I just replaced the same with the DW06 on my GL550 this week.
Waiting to see how they work in the snow. A compromise living in the Bay Area.
Do you think they are quieter? I was waiting to post, but they seemed noisier to me on residential roads. It's my wife's car so haven't driven them extensively.
What tire pressure did you go with?

In the past I've used the DWS on several cars including a 2002 Carrera 4..........yes I put High Performance All Seasons on a Porsche. They were much quieter and tread wear was much better than summer tires. After years of pushing it to the limit I've mellowed in years and attitude. Not too much over the limit driving these days so the DWS fits my needs perfectly. However, I was not aware that this tire is available in 20 or 21 inch tires???
I have also had good results with Michelin PS3 All Seasons but they are not available (at least from Tire Rack) for the GL 20" or 21" set up.

Definitely quieter than my previous set of Pirelli All Seasons. I'm running 36psi all around (I'm on staggered 19's).

We may be going to Tahoe this weekend to test them out.
I tried 41/44 cold (44/46 when warm) but it was noisier and very stiff; lowering it to 37/41 warm PSI, seem to be a perfect blend.
Too low, and it start to get gelly.. I have Active Curve/ADS.

MO rating
How important is it to use MO-designated tires on your GL? The selection of such is very limited for my GL 550, and I would love to go without the MO designation but I don't want to risk ride and safety. What are your opinions?
See http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...jsp?techid=23& for more info on MO if you aren't familiar with it.

Cross posting as I've driven these in the snow now (in case anyone stumbles across this thread). I was impressed.
