One interesting note from the guide is that the Off Road Engineering Package is only $2100 and includes Air Body Control, which is $1900 as a stand alone option. Is there any reason not to get the Off Road Package if we were going to get Air Body Control either way?

I'd have to say that is a total no-brainer, you would be mad to pass up that combination. Here in the UK Air Body Control is £1495 and the Off-road Package is £495. That combination totals approximately $2900 in your currency. I believe when ABC is coupled to the Off-road option you gain another 2 suspension modes, namely Trailer and Rocking Assist which are not available if you have the conventional springs. Additionally you get Hill Descent Control and the ability to raise the overall ride height by nearly a further 2 inches. In the UK the Off-road package will put you on the R31 18-inch rims, they are not available any other way.

Oh yuck. I hate saddle brown. Love espresso. Needs more wood trims, needs options for a dynamica headliner, needs an option for a wood steering wheel. I really like the package structure this year though.

I'm not sure why they omit options like wood trims and wheels for some markets. I can't imagine it saves them any money production-wise as they're all built on the same assembly line. (Anyone care to comment?)
Personally, I'm bummed that the GLC43 comes default with the multi-spoke 20" wheels here in the US. I was hoping it would default to the 19" AMG 5-twin spoke wheels that the Germans and Brits get. (Similar to the default wheels on the sport package here in the US.) I wonder if US sales people can just enter the code for that wheel at purchase time?

Move to Canada. They get the open-pore brown ash wood trim.

More wood trim? Agree somewhat -- maybe only to the extent of replacing the rather cheap-looking plastic trim piece where the dash meets the windshield with a matching wood trim piece. Previous older Benzes of mine had this, and IMO it looked sharp. Served to tie together the door wood trim with the dash. Of course, I suppose cost was the deciding factor that eliminated it in the first place. Or maybe heat/sun damage potential played into it. I do recall some issues with that (slight peeling of finish). But with huge advances in today's coatings/finishes, it may be feasible.

4Matic
Can anyone explain the attached extract from the document. It seems to be saying that the GLC 4matic was initially supplied with the C Class 7Gtronic gearbox which was temporarily made to work with the 4matic system, but it now has a full integration with the 9Gtronic. I did not think any GLCs were made with 7Gtronic gearboxes.

It's a special order option here in the states...see page 37 of the DOG. It's option code 581 and it was also available for MY16. I believe it was a $750 option, or something like that. Plus a one-time $250 special order charge.

Confused, so under the carbon fiber options for the GLC43, it says carbon fiber & piano black trim. Does that mean they finally wil do piano black door trim (around the speaker grills) in piano black?? The 2016 model would put brushed aluminum trim on door speaker panels instead of piano black when you ordered CF center console and I always though it clashed so much.... Looked ugly.
Somebody please confirm!
Also, I noticed no GLC63 for 2017 even though supposedly they are coming out mid year in Feb
