MY2013 GLK350 COMMAND File Formats for Video/Audio Playback
Hey everyone! Im new to the MBWorld forums! and a very excited new owner of a 2013 GLK350. ITs my first MB, and Im loving life! (upgraded from Acura TSX)
Something I've been experimenting with is the compatibility, and detection of different file formats for video & audio playback in my GLK350. By use of USB Flash drive, DVD/CD Disk, Memory card, etc.
So far I havnt found much success with any..
To give a bit of context, my GLK350 is MY2013, and fully loaded (minus Advanced Driving Assist package) and HK Audio upgrade.
Does anyone know or have a list of the file formats for video and audio playback they know does work on the COMMAND system?
Ideally id like to watch my "archived" content while at a stand still, etc.
Thanks in advance!

I was really hoping for .AVI and even other h.264 HD codec support. But I haven't found any of those to be supported.
I just did a quick search on the webbernet on MP4 and it seems that might be a good optioon for some video files. I'll try converting some files to MP4 over the weekend and see how they play back.
Do you know if the COMMAND system will play MP4 video files while the vehicle is in motion?

Download the MB owners manual and the Command manual.

I believe it does recognize most video formats. Not sure of AVI.

I am interested myself. Take delivery of my GLK beginning of June and will find out what formats will work. I do not think it will play video while in motion.... I will test DVD/CD, memory stick and USB inputs for A/V formats. Broadcast design engineer that works with these files for major studio/network.

Any updates on this? I just took delivery of 2014 E300 hybrid and want to know what formats this new version can handle so far it appears to be as prehistoric as my 2008 and only adds album covers to iPod on the comand really poor for this day and age
