2013 GLK 250 Nav Questions
I have a 2013 GLK 250, I have the Multimedia package. I can't figure out what version of the NAV system I have and Navteq doesn't show any information for the 2013 glk. My maps are V.8 and I would like to see if there are any updates.
I'm hoping the nav/search options are improved so if I am Seattle and look for a Starbucks it doesn't come up with one in North Carolina.
-thanks

Yes you can. If you have the DVD you just put it in the CD slot and you will see instructions on screen. I did it myself when I updated mine and yes it takes 2 hours or so.

The one that I bought 2 years ago was version 2012.2 V 10.0. It was 1 disc and it worked for '11 C Class 10'-12' GLK and 11'-12' SLS AMG. I don't think the head unit has changed. Best bet is to ask your MB dealer. I know that there is no difference in price from the internet vs. MB.
The latest disk that I have seen here on the forum says it is V 13.0 for 2014 but it says the disk is for the same years mentioned above.

I just updated with 13.0 and it does take several hours and the car has to be "on" but the engine doesn't need to be running. A couple hours left in the "run" position is pretty hard on the battery. Another poster recommended connecting a battery charger to the battery for the entire time. I did this and it seemed to go just fine. You have to remove all the CD's if you have this - and any inserted. You then put in the new disk and it starts working at its glacial pace.
