Installed some running boards on my 14 GLK (Pic)

What a pain in the ***! The $200 eBay kit came with no instructions what so ever and YouTube wasn't much help! anyway it was still fun Sunday project, and I have to admit it makes my GLK looks 20X better. My reason for installing the running boards was more for appearance then function.

Looks pretty damn good. On a scale of 1-10, how much of a pain in the *** was it to install? Wondering if it's something I'd want to tackle myself.

We have the same car...same color, wheels, everything. I'd love that look for my wife's GLK.

Very very slow
It sure does look good but not very practical.
I have them on mine so I know.
If you have a 5 or 6 year old kid then it's will benefit him/her with getting in/out.
On a scale of 1-10, I would rated as a 5.
Even though the instruction might be crappy but it's fairly straight forward.
A couple hours will do the job just fine.

ps...Did I see 2 siennas in the background? LOL

I think they look awesome. I have a black GLK and I have been searching for a good price. They seem to stick out more than most running boards. Any chance of hitting a shin?

I/10 I would say... about 6ish you only need a 10MM socket a rivet remover and I guess a small hammer to push those rivets back in took me an hour and 20 min on the 1st one and 45 min on the second one. The hardest part was aligning the cover.

I have a 2012 GLK 350 and have wanted to put on the running boards on mine, however when I asked the service and parts gentleman at Mercedes Dealership he told me it wont be able to work on my car?! Any tips on where I can buy mine?

I have a 2012 GLK also and purchased a set on ebay and installed them myself a few weeks ago. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=261542804203

I'm sure you can find less expensive aftermarket running boards list as well, however I wanted Genuine Mercedes parts.

Do you (or anyone) have a full car shot? I was thinking about it also but wondered what they looked like.

I have a 2014 GLK350 with the AMG body kit, and yes, a running board. It is absolutely useless and annoying. I want to take it off and throw it away every time it rains and my calf gets wet with the dirty water on from the board. I don't know why you guys would even want to add it.

Same to you Matt, if you want to get rid of the running boards, I will take them off your hands. If you are local, I can pick up or pay for shipping. LMK.

IMO they were really easy to install and I’m 16. I knew exactly what to take off or unscrew. Took me about 45 minutes but could’ve taken me less if I didn’t have corroded bolts that are holding in the side skirts.
