Phone charging issue

Regardless of which phone I try (iphone6, iphone5,Android) or which power source I try, the phones will not charge. If the battery is dead, it will keep it "on" but wont charge it regardless of how long its plugged in. Using same cables that work fine in the wifes car. Any help?

Use a 2amp+ cig lighter charger/adapter - your center console USB or media interface will not provide enough current..

Do a "search" here. There was just a thread on this very subject that explains all.

I noticed this on my wife's 2015 GLK and have asked the dealer a few times. Finally I got an answer that didn't satisfy my wants/needs. The USB port and 8-pin charger that is in the arm rest charges at less than 1 amp. The service manager was reluctant tell me loudly at the dealership. I complained that most all cars are offering 2+ amps for the USB slots. He told me the best thing is to find a very small 12V cigarette charger/USB and use that. So I found a Griffen adapter that fits well and have had my wife use that when she wants to charge her iPhone 6 quicker. The 2015 C-class loaner also had a similar problem...

It's not a "problem" - the charging limit is actually under 1 amp - and was Mercedes compliance to Apple's request - weird but true..... what Apple requests ... Apple gets ... and Apple still won't come around and "finish" CarPlay...
