glk 250 cdi 4 matic engine stops
I have a problem with my glk 250 Cdi 4matic automatic, 2012 model (x204). It has eco mode (start/stop engine when the car is stopped). The problem is that even if the eco mode is on or off, sometimes the car stops the engine and all the dashboard lights turns on. I have nothing else to do but to put into a parking mode, turn off the key, pull it out and restart the engine. I`ve took the car to the dealership and there is no error message saved on its computer so they don`t know what the problem can be. They said it might be because of the contact block. Maybe it`s broken and makes the car think that I am stopping the engine and turn back the key on the first step (on battery)
Every time when the engine stopped, was when car was stopped ( 0 km/h), not while moving.
Have anyone heard a problem like this?
please let me know here or on emal: bogdanchirilachb@gmail.com

What you're descibing is that your car stalls - it has nothind to do with the start/stop functionality. You need to get it serviced. And, just because your dealership doesn't know what the exact problem is, it doesn't mean that they can simply shrug it off. If you have the ability to go somewhere else for service, do it - if not, insist that they further troubleshoot and fix the problem.
While this is not a North American site, I think the vast majority of the readers are from either the US or Canada where the diesel GLK 250 didn't arrive until the 2013 facelift (and more importantly, changes made to the engine management system) so unfortunately it's unlikely that you'll get significant input as to what is the possible culprit. My 2015 250 doesn't have start/stop for example - I think here only the 350 gasoline cars do.
At any rate, your engine stalls or turns off - but why it happens in your particular case (especially as there are no codes present) would likely be just a guess. Take it back to the dealership and/or escalate it to MB head office in whatever country you live in. Good luck.

The only way to stop a diesel engine is to turn off the fuel. On high pressure rail engines this is usually done at the fuel pump. An intermittent ignition switch ( which in a diesel has nothing to do with ignition) may stop the fuel pump, but it seems that this would be random and not at a stop.
Other causes may be a torque converter locked up, an air flow sensor going bad, a bad turbo and many other thingS.
More likely Diabolis is probably correct
