How do I reset MCS security Code

Well, since you care so much, I'm from Nigeria. Most of the car dealers around here are not certified and they will do anything to sell. So I guess that was what he was told and that is not the issue here. I've been trying to get the code for a while, the dealers I've seen here don't have the code due to lack of certification I guess. The ones that have it are charging me for it. Please help if you can!
Yes it is the issue here. People who steal radios and need the radio code so it can work in their vehicle, post confusing and conflicting information as you did.
I have no idea what the dealer in Nigeria wants to charge for supplying you with the radio code, but that is the price you will have to pay for your father losing it.

Maj. Dundee, can you please help me in getting the code. I would have gone to the Nigerian dealer guy but honestly I can't afford the price he's asking, I'm only a university student. I'm sorry abt the mix up in the year of manufacture of the vehicle but I'm willing to go any lengths you ask to prove to you that the car is legitimately mine. I just uploaded some pictures that can prove this to flickr...my user name is bfemi@rocketmail.com. Thanks much.

Thanks...so much appreciated even though I can't make international calls with my phone. If there's anyone else around here who can help I will really appreciate it. I guess I'll have to stay without the code for longer.

I can help you with this radio code, Femi. All you need to provide is one more document - your birth certificate, to prove that you are Tunde Busari's son.

Thank you for verifying your identity. You wouldn't want some thief to enjoy your ML and its radio if they found the ownership papers in the glovebox, right?
You'll just have to wait a few hours until I finish work and can look up the code for you. Unless the Major beats me to it.

Femi, how much is the dealer selling the code for?

It is extremely hard to believe that you could not find a way to make one telephone call from Nigeria to solve your problem. Has Nigeria been cut off from the rest of the world?
Although I agree with the dealer's price being exorbitant, finding a way to make an overseas call would have been minuscule in comparison. But you chose to continually cry the blues until you got your way, free of charge and free from effort. Effort being the key word.

The VIN entered does not match the information listed in our database. Please re-enter the VIN and make sure it is the same
VIN that is on the vehicle. If the problem persists please contact our customer Assistance Center via E-mail through our

I am assuming because it is a 1999 year model car. My closest MB dealer told me I had to make an appointment to make an appointment and they can not help me for 2 weeks.

It's nothing to do with having a 1999 model. MB keep a database of owners, so if you've never had service at an MB dealer, they don't know you're the current owner. The last registered owner who informed MB is in the database.
Otherwise someone could steal your radio, read the VIN off your windscreen, and set up an Owners Online account to get the code and make the radio work.
