I have a 99 ML320. To reset/program the key my manual says to insert the key into the ignition and turn it to position 2. Then remove the key and within 60 seconds hold down the lock doors button and press the unlock doors button 5 times.
Would be interested to know if this works.

If you have a new key the remote's keyless entry and alarm can be programmed by you with the instructions given above.
However the DAS function can only be programmed by the dealer.
If you purchased the key from EBAY all I can say is good luck. The dealer will do nothing for you. If you purchased from a Mercedes dealer they should have programmed all the functions for you. The Dealer needs both a new factory supplied key and the vehicle to marry key and the AAM's/DAS security codes together.
