Low Range Flashing
I have purchased the motor for about 170.00 and put it on myself ran the sequence to set sync it and still no luck.
I sent it to my dealership yesterday. Found it to be the trans module (brain) has been compromised and needs to be replaced. I was also in the last few days getting a P700 fault (trans control mod) indicator lamp request that would go off and on. I will get my truck back Friday and will let everyone know.

You will need two people to try this. Chock two wheels and set the emergency brake and follow instructions for activating the Low Range. With you under the truck, have someone push the switch and then you tap the motor a few times with a light hammer. This might have to be done a few times to get it going. |

With the key on, and with a test light check fuses 8 and 22.
Try this procedure: Eng. running and shift into N. Remove foot from brake. Push the switch. Step on brake. Push switch again. Shift into P and turn eng. off. Perform process again and see if it works. Besides code P0410 are there any other codes listed? Is the ETS light the only one on? Do you have a scanner and what kind? |

it's having a bunch of misfires on 3 cylinders that and the P0410 and low range blinking 4 times and off,
I'm getting the spark plugs and wires replaced this week, that might do for the misfires the suv has 87XXX miles on it and it's been always serviced on time, the scanner was my friends is one of those new ones that connect to your ipad, thanks for the advise will try it out today and let you guys know what happens. |

For now forget about the Low Range problem. The important thing is to find the misfire problem. Misfires ruin cat. converters. |

I think your right thanks for the input!,
I already fear the worst, this is what the scan says, misfires cylinder 4,5 and 6, code P0410, secondary air pump/air injection system, I found this video of a guy saying is my Cat, Just wanna make sure it's not something else before I try and replace my existing ones they are pretty expensive, here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTfXpwa3leE I haven't check for pressure leak if someone knows of a DIY guide please point me to it, any advise is greatly appreciated, thanks for your time and help guys. The reason you are getting code P0410 is because of the back pressure caused by the bad cat. Have it replaced and all your problems will be over. Last edited by Maj. Dundee; 02-06-2012 at 11:35 AM. |

When mine did exactly the same thing, i just replaced the motor and it was fine after that. The motor change is 'plug and play', no coding required.

Hello everyone I just wanted to share my progress and ask for advise,
Today I when under my ML320 and took one of the O2 sensors I turn on the engine and it's working well now but with the sensor out? will this mean my Cat is clogged? or is just a bad sensor? I really don't even know if what I did was good or ok but not a real mechanic just trying to save some money for the family and also take care of our suv, if someone knows or had the same issue feel free to comment thanks for helping guys. ![]() ML320/98 |

Hi, Replacing the motor is very easy, just crawl under the car to the rear of the transfer case and unplug the motor electric plug, undo the 3 (or 4) bolts that secure the motor to the transfer case and replace with the new one. 15 minutes!
It is plug and play, no coding necessary. |
