Rough Idle @ Stop Light
2001 ML320 61,000 miles of an old man's conservative driving. Rough idle/vibration at stop light. The following has been replaced already: Mass Airflow Sensor, plugs and wires, trans mount. I started to replace the motor mounts only to find that the the Daimler/Chrysler misfits
engineered a nightmare into what should be a fairly simple job. Once I had the car on the hoist, R wheel well removed, mount unbolted and motor lifted to the point of bottoming out on the body of the vehicle and still not enough room to remove the mount, I was at least able to do a though inspection. It appeared to be in perfect condition. Seeing as the driver's side is even more of a nightmare to get at due to the transfer case, I'm just not convinced enough that there is anything wrong with the mounts. I'm going to have it analyzed, but wanted to see if I am overlooking anything.
