Question Help! 2009 or 2008 ML350 4matic

I am trying to figure out if there is major difference between the 2009 and 2008 ML 350 4Matic.

1. http://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/2422882

2. http://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/2942955

After bartering I am looking at roughly $3k difference between the 2008 and 2009. Am I better off with the 2009 due to few extra options and newer year for future resale? Or should I bank the $3k and go wih 2008?

Both clean title, carfax report.

Appreciate all of your help.

2008 = no urea
2009 = urea tank to fill

ML 320 CDI
A lot of things we dont know about these 2 gasoline ML350's in your post. Service history, full options, etc. Just stay away from air suspension. If they are comparatively the same - Id go with the 2009 gasoline ML350.

Thanks for the respond guys. They are both gasoline. The 2008 is edition 10. Other one is the sport utility. I believe the links have all the options listed. 2009 has few additional things that 2008 didn't.

I am not super knowledgeable on MB options that is what I was trying to figure out if 2009 is worth $3000 more than the 2008 since they have about the same mileage. (That's offers I was presented with. 2008 3k cheaper than 2009)

I also found out 2008 was dealer's wife's car. No accidents on carfax according to the dealer

And 2009 has been in a minor accident according to carfax, dealer trying to get details for the accident. (They guarantee that they have inspected it and car is in tip top shape)

So I am torn on what to do.

I have an 09 with 90k, bought new. Ordered with all options minus air suspension. Memory seats, keyless go, lighting package, running boards, rear climate controls, xenon's, adaptive headlights, headlamp washers, etc. Keyless go is a 900 option, rear climate control was 900, adaptive headlights and the lighting package was 1200. These 3 options alone are worth 3k. If these are impt to you and the 09 has them and the 08 does not then go with the 09. I would be concerned about the 09 being in an accident. Maybe it was very minor but worth fully looking into.

Thank you for that info. The 09 is not listed with keyless go, does not have running boards. I am thinking it only has the premium package 1? Has navigation multi CD, and some other options I can't recall at the moment. Dealer said they will get me the info on what the accident was about.

So bottom line 09 they said they would do out the door $19.5

Other dealer said 08 out the door 16.6 with cash.

08 has clean carfax and when used the vin, it comes as Edition 10 version of this model. Not sure what that means either. Can't find enough info on Google.

In addition to no urea the reason I opted for the 2008 was no run flat tires and a spare.

Do you realize you are buying a ML350 with 80,000 miles. I did this and between then and the 126k on it now it has been a bloodbath on my wallet. Run dont walk away from these high miles cars they are not made to last without insanely expensive repairs. I did most of them myself also but the parts are triple the norm etc. This has been the worst purchase I have ever made on a car. German cars are for leases only. Buying and selling before the warranty period ends wont work either because of the huge depreciation. I tried to sell mine in perfect condition and low trade value was all anyone would pay. Pretty much 4k less than retail value. Cost of ownership for me was about the same as leasing a bran new one and having no repair hassles and driving a new car. We bought a new Toyota 4 Runner and keep the ML as a spare since nobody will pay anything I will take for it.
