- Scenario - !

Lets say the battery dies and the remote is DEAD. You had it in your bag for the day and a pen or laptop was pressing on a button the WHOLE time draining the battery completely. Battery is completely DEAD & your M brace just expired. How does one get into the vehicle?

I don't see a key hole anywhere? It seems that electronically is the only way to get into the vehicle?

Ingenious huh?

you call road side assistance and they come pry your door open with an air bag.. .. if your roadside expired than you call a tow truck and they will do the same thing and charge you for it.

Isn't there a keyhole in the driver's door handle? Blade key in the remote.

picked up my car today and sales guy explained the hidden blade in the remote and the keyhole for getting into the car in the event of a flat battery (wasn't sure if he meant flat car battery or flat key battery).

A gaggle of MB's
Buy Japanese replacement lithium batteries - earlier post should link you to Amazon where Jana made Maxell are like under $.35 each... MB brand replacement batteries from the dealer unfortunately are now made in Indonesia or China and are not that good at all.

There is an analog key in the remote. Surely it is explained in the manual or your dealer can demonstrate.
That said, the "Key battery low" warning appears on the dash well in advance of complete battery discharge. Replacement batteries are available very nearly everywhere.
Your scenario would border on gross operator error in my opinion.

Thank you for that gentlemen. Security system goes off if you use the analog key...

I understand that it will go off, but once you pull out the stop/start button and insert the key, the alarm will silence. Fortunately I have not had to try it yet.

Damn shame on the crappy Indonesian/China "MB" batteries plus Keyless Go is original BlueTooth which zaps remote batteries fairly quickly - all to the good this forum present cost effective solution... from my side I send 2 fresh Japanese lithiums to my customers on their 6 month new car "anniversary", but that's me !

Press lock on fob. Red light flashes on fob. No red light, battery low or "gone".
If gone, go to Batteries +. Have them test battery. Buy new battery.
