Thanks. They just un-sold me with that change from the ML350BTC to the ML250BTC. It won't have the towing capacity.
Hopefully, the350BTC is still available in the GL.

MBUSA Marketing really has their head firmly planted up in an area where the sun never shines. It's no wonder that Audi is growing its market share both in the US and especially in Europe!

I wonder what engine they are actually using on the ML400?
It says - Create greater customer value with the “V8” model at a lower price point. For wherever they are going with this. ???????

Yeah, me too...when I ordered a couple weeks ago, I believe there were less than a dozen open and unsold build allocations available for MY 2014 BT's, fortunately my dealer was ble to work a swap with another dealer to get my order in.

It will still be able to tow, just not as easily as the 350BTC. Sad really. The 350BTC was the best option for power and fuel economy. Now they've shifted more to the economy side at the expense of power. Wonder how much more economy it will get.

I think it's plain stupid to replace the ML350BT with the ML250BT for the US. Gas prices here are still half of what they are in Germany. To me it just doesn't feel right to spend over 50K on a four cylinder, no matter if it's a diesel or gas driven car. We didn't even look at the E-class and went straight to the Audi dealer and got the A6 TDI instead of the E250BT last December. On the bright side, my 2014 ML350BT is ordered and should get here in late July

369lb ft of torque isn't exactly a small amount of power especially for what the majority of customers with a ML350 tow... granted I'd MUCH RATHER have the 350BT's motor but still.
Just playing devils advocate here but the ML250 is supposed to get around 35mpg mixed. That's F'in great if you ask me since I've seen maybe 2 ML's actually towing something larger than a jetski... and I live on a popular lake/camping area!
I'm further reserving any opinion until I can actually drive one.

You must be referring to imperial gallons instead - 35 mpg imperial is close to 29 mpg US.

The Mercedes Benz UK website lists the 2014 ML250BTC at 46.3 MPG.
Converting Imperial MPG to US MPG, puts it at about 38 MPG.
I don't know if there are any significant mechanical or electrical differences that would alter the calculation. The UK model does have all-wheel drive and ECO start/Stop.
Sounds good to me.

2024 GLS450
The DOG states that the 250 can tow 6,600LBS... same as the 2wd 350.
I'll be curious to see how they are in the real world - it may not be fast, but if it's a steady pull it might be alright.
I've had the itch for an E250 for a while now - but my life/living situation will hopefully be changing in the near future and I'd like to get a boat. The intent will be for it to be slipped, but I might need to drag it out of the water on occasion - so a diesel ML may be in the cards for my next car.

Wait a second: they show Active Curve as a regular, stand alone option now, but, in order to get it, AirMatic is "required," but AirMatic is an SPC option? It has to be a misprint and must be the other way around, with AirMatic being the regular option and Active Curve being on the SPC list.
