2013 ML 63
Hoping you guys can help me out.
I have an opportunity to purchase a 2013 ML 63 with very low miles. The problem is that the vehicle does not have the Trailer Hitch option, and that is a must for me.
Can the factory hitch be installed on an existing ML 63?
Aftermarket?
I appreciate the input. It's been a while since my last ML and after driving the 63, it's time to jump back in. What an awesome machine!
Thanks

The ML63 is no different than any other ML in retro-fitting a trailer hitch.
The factory hitch will be an expensive solution because it involves replacing the rear SAM in addition to adding the hitch.
Aftermarket hitches will not have the same tow rating as the factory option and will not include the anti-sway capabilities of the factory option.

What do you mean the "rear SAM"?
My biggest concern would be the integration of the trailer wiring. This was a problem on Q7's as well as Tourag's, particularly if the trailers were using LED's.
My boat package is probably the heaviest thing I would tow and that is in the 3500# range so an aftermarket should do the trick.
Thanks for your quick reply, I'm hoping I can make this work, the ML is an impressive machine!

someone priced it out here a while back. I'm sure if you searched you could probably find the thread. I want to say it was in the $2500-$3000 range

Thanks to all.
One thing led to another and the next thing you know I am driving out of the dealers lot in a 14 GL63 AMG, with the tow package
Still smiling. The nicest mini-van I have ever owned!
