Remote start and heated seat
Any idea why when using the remote start, the car shuts off when you go and open the door? Yes, I have the key with me. Also, is there a way to have the heated seat left on so when you use the remote start, the seat starts warming up. Thanks

The remote start turn off is a safety feature so that some one cant get in your car and drive off stealing your car. Both my MB and TDI Passat turn off when you unlock the door or open the door and require you to restart with the key in the vehicle. Not sure about the heated seat.

I figure that it was a anti theft feature. I just thought if I walk up to the SUV with my key, it should stay on. I should be able to leave the heated seats on when I shut the car off. this way when I go to warm the car up, the seats are warming up.

Turning the car off is annoying but its a security feature. They need to improve the app exponentially but it doesn't seem like MB is actively updating it with features as opposed to just getting bugs out. I agree, the app needs: turn on heated seats, turn on heated steering wheel, and the ability to change how long it stays on. The reliability of the app is questionable too though, although it has been more reliable lately.

It is the worst app on my iphone. We should start a thread dedicated to how bad it is. It'll be the longest forum here :-)
I honestly cant believe how poor it is.

I wish Mercedes was listening to all of us! But they are not! You are talking with Verizon, not Mercedes when you call MBRACE!

Verizon telematics might write the app but Mercedes lets this Happen!*
Verizon telematics has an app and hardware they sell that works very well. Check it out at hum.com. You pay monthly fee and plug a module onto you ODBll port. *Too bad Mercedes let them get away*with this and not fix their own app.
Perhaps a class action lawsuit is needed, MBRACE is misleading in all the Mercedes literature.*

A fix for the heated seats would be tapping into the auto start function and adding a relay to activate the heated seats. After more thought you might want to add a toggle switch to the new circuit so when you auto start in the summer, the seat heaters won't be active. Most car start/audio businesses will know what to do.

With your 2015 C63, what remote start are you using?

I would imagine the Mercedes MBrace much like the GLE 350. I drive the C63 and my wife drives the GLE suv. She went ahead and signed up for the 6 month trial. The MBrace is horrible. I wouldn't use it even if it was free. It doesn't remote start half the time. When it does work, you should be able to jump in and drive if you have the key with you.

Ah so she has the 2016 GLE. I thought remote start came standard. I have the 2015 ML and was mad that I missed the free remote start, but I guess its really worthless.

I'm in. Who do we speak to???? I've spent hours dealing with mbrace tech support about the failed remote start. Just got off the phone because despite repeat assertions that they would look into it and get back to me, they never did.
I spoke with the manager at my dealership who told me to call Mercedes customer service because he had heard so many complaints from his clients.
Mbrace said that there is nothing they can do to compensate me unless I subscribe to one of their pay services (they will extend it a few months for free).
I will expect MB to compensate me or these are my last cars that I buy from them. Their indifference to this whole situation is mind boggling.

Write to the manufacturer, zone representative, or authorized dealer notifying them of the problem. Specifically state that your car is a lemon and that you want a buy-back under the lemon law
