Programming liftgate height

Hi,
A while ago I changed the settings on my liftgate height, by pressing the auto/close button (located on the liftgate), hearing two dings and storing new height limit... I tried to do the same, just recently, and Im unable to do so.
First of all if I press the auto/close button located on the liftgate it no longer resets anything - no audio two ding singnal ever comes out... Went over the manual and it has no usefull information regarding this, also tried a combination of opening closing methods thinking it maybe falls out of limits, but that is not true either.
The liftgate door will open close to the previously programmed value, but it will not set/accept a new height.
Any ideas?

Its a 2012 Mercedes ML350.

I assume you tried to erase the old setting first.

By pressing the red button for 10 seconds and hearing the double beep?
It is unresponsive, it does not make any noises....No matter how long you keep pressing the red button. It almost looks like the setting is disabled.

Try doing this after just parking the car after a drive.
