I seriously hope those torque figures are incorrect...

229ft/lb at 6,500 RPM?
This is not a Honda... no one is going to want to rev the hell out of the car to get it to pull. That's the same torque figure my 1.8L makes at 2,200 RPM.

that Linden trim is really nice....I like....

that's going to be a nice car: expensive after adding all the goods though, but lots of nice options

Really pisses me off how much Mercedes is making the C look like an S. I saw a row of W205's driving the other week, all very dirty, not sure what they were here for, but they were obviously corporate cars. Even with the size difference, it's VERY hard to tell whether or not you're looking at a W222 until you focus in on it and its proportions relative to cars around it. Someone in another forum even posted a pic of the "W205 spotted" and turned out, it was in fact a W222 electric plug version being tested. I know the ones I was looking at were W205's because not only did I notice the size, but the Star grille was a giveaway.

The S deserves to have a look that is royal. Ain't gonna happen when there are hundreds of thousands of C's all over the place, wearing the exact design.

And 229 torque at 6,500 RPM's is RIDICULOUS!! WTF.

the S will usually stand out from the other MB cars I think, will be interesting to see the W205 and W222 side by side, then again, W205 has a few exterior options......S only has two plus the AMG

I think the C and S should have similar packages in the U.S? Aesthetically speaking? Probably the "base" look and the Sport. Haven't noticed 3 exterior packages on the W222, though maybe 'cause I haven't payed attention close enough. The most irksome thing is how the lines and sculpting on the W205 and W222 appear to be identical. Even previous S Classes that had smaller look-a-like siblings had lines drawn at least subtly different. Different placed character line, a line that doesn't exist on the other one here or there. The W205 looks like a literal scaled down S, save for the front grille on the C Sport.

One thing that will make the S stand out more form other Benzes is how it's very close to becoming the only Mercedes on the road with the Luxury grille and standup Star. Funny how years ago, it was the opposite.

Indeed, I think that is exactly why you can't get a C400 with the Luxury package - they don't want buyers to be enticed by the standup star on a similar looking car at half the price. From what I have read, the 2016 E will have a distinctive look - I think MB realizes they can't get away with the "same looking sausage in three sizes" approach, the next E has to have its own distinctive look.

That's interesting, and does make sense. It looks like for this coming generation, the "royal" aspect of the S' exterior (as the interior is thankfully a world apart from the C Class), when compared to its smaller sibling, will be the standup star and the sheer size. I really hope the E gets a more distinctive style (as the W212 did, but then M-B about-face'd that to try and make it look more like the C for the facelift).

I have no issue with a C "looking like" an S, that's a given, and a great thing when done properly. But I've looked at the C and S designs, and aside from the grille, there doesn't seem to be any difference. Even BMW and Audi who share designs so closely from model to model, have differently positioned or carved lines, slightly reshaped lights, a line here or there that others don't have, etc. With the S and C, it seems everything is exactly identical, save for the size (and said grille).

being an actual owner of a 222, I like the understated look of the exterior.....not too flashy and very plain.........I don't need the show off factor; that's what my 63 is for LOL....
the S class body is simple and to the point

Not disagreeing with you at all there. I'm ALL about understated yet finely executed designs. I just don't like that the C looks like a very lazy scaled down copy of it, to a "T". Being understated is great, but looking like a bigger C Class, in my opinion is unfortunate. I personally wish they saved at the very least some specific exterior design features for the S.
