Keyless entry issue

So we are learning about this vehicle every day.

Is there a difference in the proximity to unlock the vehicle depending on the time away from the vehicle?

This is what we see. If you are in and out of the vehicle over a short time, the door lock and unlock from a distance. I am not saying hundreds of feet but at least 30. But if the car sits over night the first time yountry and unlock you either have to hold the button and or get closer. I am not sure the extent, so far my wife has had the vehicle or I have been at work.

My first thoughts are that its the remote. Its the only one and a little beat up. I had planned to get a new exterior and also another remote.

Btw its a 2008 r350 if that matters.

Thanks in advance.

Gonna check on the fuses when she gets home. The cigerette lighter isnt working I dont think. I am hoping the fuse info is in the toolkit in the rear.

Was working on cigerette lighter, but will check the fuse for this tonight. Its funny that it happens when the car has been sitting. I know some systems stay on after you lock in case you are quick to get backin. But why would the door locks matter?

I know it has ir for the door handle. Does anyone know which fuse covers either door systems, ir or rf?

Wife came home changed to go to a dance class and left. I did change the batteries while she was here. I am not thinking this will solve it, but I had the batteries so it wasnt a bad idea. At least I know they are fresh.

So far the batteries seemed to have worked. Small sample size, but the doors opened on the first push this morning.
