Help a total R-class newbie. Is there a sig difference with the facelift?

Looking for a used R350 (would love the R63 but cant find any) for family reasons, and I have some choices in my area between some 2011-2012 models with the facelifted front end vs. the older rounded headlamps. I actually prefer the looks of the rounded headlight version, but I am stuck with the 'newer is better' mentality. The interiors of the two seem virtually identical to me?

So was wondering, what are the substantive differences between the two that I should be aware of?

Thanks so much!

It's all in the name - facelift - no mechanical or electrical changes that I'm aware of.

That being said, there have been other changes that have not coincided with the facelift, but these have primarily to do with fixes for engine problems and meeting new emissions standards.

I read somewhere that in 2009 or 2010 the interior door panels were changed for better side impact safety, but I'm not 100% if it was the door panel or the interior structure of the door that was changed.

Yes, you are correct. I believe that the door has better reinforce bar for side impact.
