Unhappy ISM issues on 07 R320

I'm about ready to drag the car to the junk yard and feel good about getting $150!

We bought the R320 used with 99K miles and it's been one thing after another (intake motor, trans failed, SAM's going bad, etc). Recently it wouldn't shift out of park. DAS says it's the ISM. DAS had later software so I let it update the ISM and it went through the initialization and shifted through the gears. Yah!, but it shifted into D once for me then nothing.

I bought a $190 used ISM in hopes my version of xentry/das/wis would handle the coding. Of course I was wrong. I need another setup (AVDI or FVDI) to clear and program the ISM - $600.

So, with the FVDI purchase I'd be about where a pre-programmed ISM (from bulgaria) would cost. So maybe I'm not too upside down, yet. The car has other issues that maybe FVDI can handle better.

All that to ask, with 220K miles on the car, is it worth spending more getting it to shift and then possibly replace the turbo (what I'm pretty sure big issue #2 is)? We have given up relying on this car and are thinking it needs a new owner or a good crushing. The interior and exterior are nice and about everything else works. At this point I can't tell if I'm heading into more problems or am on the verge of fixing the last of the stuff to go wrong. We really love the car - good looks, great engine (when it's good) and nice size.

thanks

The issue is it may only be worth $2000 if I get it to drive. High miles and not being MB most desired vehicle are not working in my favor. thanks
