Angry LOST MY GUAGES

Hi all
I have a 92 500 SEL
I am in hopes that someone has dealt with a similar issue before
My battery went dead over winter storage
i removed the battery and charged it up
now my guages in the cluster do not work (all but the temp guage)
-also when i engage the key i get 5 blinks of the low fuel light and a couple other lights----seems to be a code?

Possably reprogramming of the guages???
and i cant find a wiring diagram for this car anywhere
HELP!!

Thanks,
Matt

The 140 clusters were bad, and some were replaced by an updated digital odometer version under warrannt. It seems the power regulator transistor and its related circuitry are at fault. It is sometimes triggered by low voltage, (marginal battery or alternator) and sometimes a junmp. In most cases it requires the cluster regulator to be rebuilt. I live in Fl and took mine to Programa because it was close, they rebuilt it and installed all new bubs incuding the outside temp since I did not go thru removing it more than once.
I got it back the next day including all the repair parts for $350. In my case it would flicker all the warning lamps came on and guages would go to zero, it would come back in a minute or so. it was also triggered by the wiper. The symptoms are described by:
http://mbcluster.com/
http://www.programainc.com/

The cluster can be removed:
http://v12uberalles.com/instrument_cluster_removal.htm
by using MB hooks which slide in on the sides, are rotated to catch the cluster and pulled forward one at a time I attempted that and then went the reach in the vent route. It is straight forward dont raise the speaker grille too much, no one ever dicusses the plastic strip at the speaker grille that covers the rear of the grille then you can remove the grille. I have the schematic for the cluster and being a retired tech, "cried" because it is so confusing and is good for understanding the concept especially wires but components are shown as a semiconductor symbol.

Well...I am still im the process of solving the problem
I have the cluster out (bought the removal hooks on E-Bay($30.)
-wortth the $ as i did not break anything

I found out a bit more info on this issue...
If you can solder you may be able to fix it yourself
I actually found the voltage stabilizer at Radio Sahck ($1.50) and now i need to get it in and try it

wish me luck!
I will let you know how it goes

all the luck, of course. What other info did you get? Links pls, if you have 'em.

How did you know it is the voltage stabilizer? RS PN pls? TIA.

I am actually working on a gut feeling and the info from Perer G. (the first response to my thread)
still dont know if it works yet (been busy with my race truck)
I am actually working on a gut instinct and the info from Peter G.
found 2 voltage regulators with heat sinks attached to them (3 total) inside the cluster

I think i would reccomend pulling the cluster and sending it it to be repaired
at the link Peter G. posted in this thread. I am in the unknown zone here and dont want to give any bad info.
I may end up sending mine in as well

The MB DVD schematic is basicly useless, it has blocks with wires going to them, but no indication of what is in it or the electronics.

I lost my gauges and seen a posting about the cluster flashing and gauges not working If I order a new cluster will the gauges work I can pick one up for about $125.00 instead of paying $300.00 for a repair
