I have a 1992 400se, I had trans. rebuild last year , and the car does not change gear without raising engine, its shifts gear at 25mph and 65mph. Do you have any idea what it could be

My 96 S320 with 140.000 miles had the tranny pulled 7 times and no one could fix it. 3 different shops and the last being the dealership. They ended up putting in one from the bone yard. It still isn't right. I skips 4th and goes right into OD. Moving the shifter back and forth has no effect.

alot of transmission problems can be traced to ATF entering the computer box.Theres a plug that goes bad on the transmission and can wick oil into brain box

I read thousands of posts while I was having problems. Leaking ATF was the first thing we looked for.

maybe both units needed a conductor plate replaced.I don't understand the 722.605 trans is suppose to be good for 325,000 mile3s,as long as fluid is chaged.

When rebuiding a transmission, change out the B1 Band, Replace Gaskets, Modulator, bowden cable. Also check the kickdown switch and any vacuum leaks. Call Ted Reich Transmeister in Orange CA, 1714.532.1871. He is the Best in the business. $600 labor x 7, $4200 labor back and forth, wow thats nuts

I just did the conductor plate in my '97 S500. I was amazed at how clean the internals of the trans were and how little friction material was in the bottom of the pan. Seems to be a very solid trans. 157k on the clock by the way.
