My 1996 S500 has had an electrical stroke

It is starting to seem like my 1996 S500 has had a stroke. It's just over 200k miles and otherwise is running alright. Here's what has happened: first, the cluster lights went out, then the right low beam head light died (but not the left or the high beam), then the cyclops brake light went out and the right rear parking light is out. So, it's not the bulbs; I've swapped them. I've replaced almost all the fuses, but none were tripped at all, either up front or in the trunk. After a while, the cluster lights came back of their own accord.
Perhaps it's unrelated, but I've been working on the antenna unit for a bit. I've been careful not to short anything and it works. I've also removed the CD playre in the trunk. I'm up for any wild ideas, or actually experience. Anyone want to take a guess? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like "Crispy Creme" wiring.
