Sunroof switch replacement questions
On my 2002 S55 the sunroof switch needs to be replaced due to the inner plastic parts broken apart, I super glued the parts together but it only lasted a few days. It's my understanding that the entire dome assembly has to be replaced.
Does the new dome from the dealer need to be programed via SDS?
Does a used dome need to be reprogramed via SDS?

There is quite a bit of circuitry in that device but except for recalibrating the cabin temperature sensor and resetting the sunroof stops, (you can do that yourself), there should be nothing else to worry about. I would not buy a new assembly from the dealer when they are plentiful on line. If you like you can swap out the guts and not worry about resetting anything. Keep the old one for parts. If the cabin temp is way off then have it calibrated.

What assembly, exactly?
Please tell me exactly what the name is or term to search for "a new assembly"? I have a 2009 ML350 and its sunroof switch is also broken (ie, it usually will open the sunroof but takes extensive playing around with the switch to get it to close). Thanks!
