Why stop at 2011 ? You could go for the 2014 (V13) DVD
Info here at post 17, part numbers etc and some back story

I agree, you should consider getting the current 2014 version. The correct part number is in a post by Skylaw further down this forum page. I use it in my 2006 S65.

Gentlemen, THANK YOU for the references. I mean it!
My thing is, I just got off eBay an OEM (NOT a copy, pirated, etc.) BQ6460315 v13 DVD for a RIDICULOUS price.
Now, after reading every bit of info available in the "cloud" (especially several times through Warren's super detailed analysis), I'm aware of the process required! I just couldn't find any of the service CD's I might need. My dealer wants something like $1,500 ("WHOLESALE"!!!!) for both W211 589 [14 & 15) 2020 CDs...
Since I'm still running the original BQ 646 0216 DVD, I think that if I install 1 (or 2) prior versions, i.e. BQ 646 0232 and then BQ 646 0262, it'll cover for the lack of those darn service CDs.
Does it make sense?

Yes it does. However.. I went from 2006 straight to 2013 with no problems whatsoever. According to Diesel Benz ..quoting ...
The latest maps are fine even if the previous DVD was ancient.
From time to time the maps DVDs include a firmware update for the Navi processor, a tiny program for navigation. In the past some maps DVDs did not include this software but assumed it came from a previous maps DVD release. This did cause issues for owners who had skipped several update releases. For quite some time all maps DVDs have included the firmware update (irrespectively if it was the same as on previous releases) which makes it possible to use new DVDs even if the previously used DVD was very old.
The only question was exactly when they started doing it.
Personally I would pop that bad boy in and see what happens. If its not going to work then you can pop the old dvd back in. But I think it should be okay.

fxdeebee, I just paid the.....$50 for that DVD (He still has another one...), so I'd assume ETA sometime next week.
For just-in-case I also got a BQ 646 0232 @ $55..., so all and all, I think, I'm covered.
I can always resell the unused ones, including the original...
I'll update once I "shove" it in the back...

fxdeebee, got it. 1st attempt said "Enter a DVD...". Went back, touched the DVD player button, the disk barely came out and went back in, and in ~20 seconds everything started working!
You were RIGHT! I needed nothing else.
I still see no visible difference between the 2006.1 I had in the car and the 2014.
ETA & distance are accessible by touch the soft keys and pressing "Info", but not displayed on the navigation screen...

Glad it lit off nicely for you I saw HUGE difference. But than again, they raise new hiways in Dallas as an annual cash crop and even the 2013 doesn't quite match up to the exits on the new tollway near the house.
