2000 S500 low beam bulb replacement
I have one flickering and need to replace it.
Is it best to replace both sides, as I have heard that the sides may not match in color and brightness if you don't?
What brand and model bulb did the factory install in these? Can the bulb be replaced without pulling the headlight cover out of the car?
Thanks.

if you have the HID, the bulbs are expensive.
Changing both at the same time may not be necessary.
You need to take the headlight assy out, there are youtube videos for that.
It involves removing a screw at the bumper near the grille, removing the bolt at the top of the headlight.
Then swivel it out (down) and pull it inwards out of the ball socket.
Good luck!

MB in WIS does NOT say to change both, but to log the replacement time into memory.

You don't need to remove the headlight , and any stereo shop that sells hid can change the bulbs with aftermarket for about $100 a pair
Or you can buy Phillips brand hid on Amazon for about $30 each
Or generic hid bulbs for about $10/pair

To get to those you have to "swivel" the headlight assy forward/down (remove the bolt at the top), and remove before a screw holding the bumper cover.

I have replaced bi-zenon bulbs and never removed a headlight. Read post #2 in the following link: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...b-my-w220.html

Yes you can get generic hid xenon bulbs for $10/pair and no you don't need to remove the headlight
