2005 S600 Battery Drain & NO POWER to Radio Head Unit, CD Changer, NAV Unit & Tele
We have acquired a 2005 Mercedes S600 with battery drain & NO POWER at all to the factory Command Stereo-Radio Display Head Unit, CD Changer, NAV Unit & the Telephone unit. If the battery isn't disconnected, the battery will drain to ZERO in about three (3) hours. The W220 sticky didn't have any solutions that resolved the drain.
Purchased this S600 from a used car dealer in Jacksonville, Florida DriveLine LLC, www.DriveLineLLC.com that DID NOT disclose this and many other serious issues. In fact, the DriveLine LLC dealer stated emphatically that they've checked it with an OBD II scanner and this S600 didn't have any trouble codes. Well, we should have known that he was lying because his lips were moving and he was offering FREE auto transport delivery to our office door, making the offer of buying it sight-unseen too tempting. NEVER AGAIN will that happen!
The car arrived with over 30 trouble codes, bad transmission, ABC, Rear SAM, HVAC overhead console sensor, the NO POWER and battery drain issue among many others. We've repaired the transmission and will tackle the ABC after the battery drain and no power to stereo issue is resolved.
Nevertheless, we replaced the REAR SAM, (signal accusation module), under the passenger-rear seat today because it was showing a fault as an "Open Circuit" but no change.
We are going to start narrowing down the sources of power distribution to each of the units this week and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced a total failure of the entire entertainment / audio / communications systems. It would be greatly appreciated if someone has solved this or similar power failure and are willing to share the secret formula.
We are going to start with checking the power terminal located in the passenger-side trunk area, (Terminal X4/22) and the terminal in the right-front passenger floor firewall, (Terminal X4/10).
Please share the MB Secrets...
