Aftermarket Stereo is draining the battery
I purchased a 2005 s500 4 months ago and had the stereo switched out for a Pioneer dbl din. It's draining the battery. I initially replaced the battery, but to no avail.
Also before changing out the stereo, I went to "Al & Eds" and was quoted a price for the Stereo, Amp & fiber optics wiring, at $3,000 and up. I'm much a lay-person at this and need some input. How will I & how much (approx) to remedy this problem?

Who installed the stereo? Take it back there and have them fix it
The stereo was probably wired so it's on all the time. A simple toggle switch added to the stereo power lead will turn it off completely , or you can have it rewired to turn on and off with the ignition
This should not cost more than $30-60 at a reputable stereo shop
