You are looking at the wrong place those are just the gas struts
Look at this picture , the hydraulic pump moves the horizontal rod above it to open and close the lid.
Is your hydraulic pump turning on and moving the rod? Have you applied power directly to the hydraulic pump as others advised ?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Remember that the trunk opening system must be turned on (the button pushed to open the trunk lid) before it will have power on the cable.

I may as well hop on this thread instead of creating a new one for my own problem.
My hydraulic trunk opener stopped working, so I did what everyone else suggested: check and add fluid to the pump if necessary. I checked the pump, and voila, the reservoir was empty! I filled it up with some pentosin chf 11s and sealed it up, and long behold my hydraulic trunk started working again!
Except there is an issue. After a few opens/closes, I heard some seeping fluid sounds from the pump area. I opened it up, to find that there is hydraulic fluid everywhere! I examine the pump, no signs of leakage. I examine the hydraulic lines, and find that they are ruptured, causing the fluid to leak out.
So here is my question: Can I repair just the hydraulic lines and be good? Or do I need to get a whole new unit because of one stupid little hydraulic line? Any input is appreciated, thank guys.
