While driving on the highway my auto lights went out and my power steering went out at the same time and at that moment "battery charge visit workshop" appeared on the message board then it started running hot, what could this be, I had just left the car wash and I did get the under body washed because we had just experienced snow and salt from the perpetration processes, please help

Sounds like your belt broke , rendering your alternator power steering pump, and water pump inoperative
