07 or 08 if the price difference is 10k-13k?

07, 47k miles warranty is only good for another month

or an 08 with 30k miles original warranty good for another year

Given that the difference is around 10-13k difference between the two but identical options color and everything.... which is a better buy?

What are the prices you are getting for both cars? That sounds like too much of a price difference. Something does not sound right...

got a broker bidding on the car, says 37-40 for the 07 and 48-53 for the 08

Both white over tan sports and pII

car fax are clean on both and above average rating from the auction.

Depends on what you can afford and want.

1) 07 with only 1 month left on warrant could fall apart even if you park it for a month, which means you will have to purchase a warranty $$$ or risk major repairs $$$, like timing chain etc

2) 08, newer, less miles warranty, gives a better piece of mind at least for a year.

3) Or look around for another W221

I can't afford either, but I want at least one...
07, if I can get it for anything 40, I think it's a decent buy and throw in an extended warranty for around $3k to have another 3 years and I'll be in the neighboor hood of 43k

On the 08, when warranty expires next Sept. I've probably only put 10k miles on it which would probably not tell me anything about the problems with the car....

At the end of the day, between the two, the 07 might be a good buy if I can steal it for anything under 40k (if i'm lucky) given the 08 go for 50k-52k if not more as other dealers would probably be killing each other over it since the factory warranty is good for another year and CPO will be another year and low miles so they'd pay a higher premium for it.

It's just nice to have an 08 just because it's not a first production year and just because it's a year newer. But spending 10k less on what's basically the exact car from the appearance is also very attractive too.

I bought my 07 with only 13K miles on it last year. Just one problem, the gas gauge went bad, replaced under warranty. No other problems at all. Just did my brakes last week, upgraded to low-dust ceramic pads. One oil change. I'm at 34K now.

I have spent a little on AMG upgrades, but the car is solid.

If you can get an 08 for almost the same price I would go for the 08. Go for a low-mileage, one-owner car if you can. When I was shopping there was a huge difference in a car with 50k miles and one with 20k. (In the shape of the car, exterior and interior)

Good luck!

If the gap between the 08 and the 07 was 5k or 6k it's a no brainer to go for the 08. I think I'm going to ask him to go up to 53k for the 08 since it's coming up first and if we loose out we're gonna go to 41k for the 07.
