W221 '07 puddle light onder the side mirror (ambient light) change
Greetings,
I'm searching for ages how I can get to that puddle light under the sidemirrors of a S class '07.
I'm guessing that only the mirror needs to pop off before i can get to the bulb (just want to change the boring yellow light to LED)
So my question is: does annyone have clear instruction how i can pop off the mirror?
See picture wich bulb I mean.
Thanks

Hey Konig, would you happen to have the documentation for the same pursuit on the facelift side mirrors? My side mirrors have holes in the bottom but no lights, are their suppose to be lights there?

I've done this. This is pretty easy but you got to be careful. First you pop off your mirror by prying at the 12 o'clock position outward. The mirror should pop off. Be careful as there are couple wires connecting to the mirror. After that, there where couple torx screws to take out that removes the mirror motor. After that you can see that there is a housing that holds the t10 bulb. I can't remember exactly but it was obvious that you have to pry it out and was pretty simple. Sorry, I wish I could explain it in more detail but when I did this it was pretty simple by looking at it. I believe I had the pry the housing upward so the edge that was even with the out mirror she'll would pop up and side out of the housing. Good luck!

Yes, pop off the mirror from 12/clock position, then tilt the mirror out toward the inside (toward the car) because that's where the wiring loom is. Pay attention to how the connector attaches to the mirror itself and restore it later.
You do not need to remove the motor. Look underneath it and you will see the two leads that go to the puddle light. Use a small flat screwdriver to lift the wiring up and out, then use the same screwdriver to pry the plastic tab while pushing the puddle light housing up from the bottom.
When reinstalling, make sure the two spring tabs line up with the cup in which they ride.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but I've been trying to get the damn glass off on the driver side... I see two plastic push spring clips (I don't know if I should mess with those)... then I let them clip back into place and just tried to pry the glass off from the 12 position...
I see some other plastic catches... I have steel dental hooks, should I pry those forward while pulling from the top with my fingers? Should I use some S shaped wedge or screw driver to push down on the plastic motor part while I pull forward?
I hate messing with side mirrors, but I'm trying to replace the little flood light bulb with a white led

May be best to use plastic wedge.
